After reading several articles, I decided to edit my campaigns to “Worldwide.” It was crowded with traffic from all the crappy unwanted countries, but nothing from the US.
To eliminate all the unwanted countries, I edited my country list to a mix of the best Tier 1,2 and 3 countries.
I got more traffic and a lower price than using only Tier 1 countries, but nothing from the US, and meager traffic for most big tier one countries like Canada, France, the UK, etc. The only valuable traffic coming from a tier 1 country was Spain.
I decided to create a new list of countries.
Tier Custom
Canada
Ireland
United Kingdom
United States
Then again, I got mixed results… But nothing from the US and bad stats for Canada.
United States Setting
I edited my location for the United States only, thinking I’ll get only American traffic… I did, but three clicks in 24 hours.
In a desperate attempt, I edited location from country to region, like California, New York, etc., and added Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, and Vancouver to the mix.
After another 24 hours, I got mediocre results for a total cost per Thruplay of €0.11. And most results were from Canada or the Virgin Islands. lol
I got eight clicks in two days for the total price of €3.31 and an awful cost per result of 0.41€ for eight clicks!!! I stopped that campaign.
Facebook ads: Facebook reserves its American members for North American Advertisers
Currently, it is only possible to advertise in the US if you are located in Noth America. Being in Thailand and having a french account doesn’t help.
If an artist chooses Worldwide in North America, I am sure he’ll get primarily American and Canadian traffic. Developing countries should be Brazil, Cuba, etc.
In Thailand, I am already located in a tier 3 country. All the countries around Thailand or not far are tier 3 or worse, like the Philippines and Vietnam.
I concentrate on the rest of the world. I’ll get North America later with YouTube ads… lol

I think I am going to create a Facebook account in the USA or Canada and manage my account from there if it’s possible.
If I exclude those countries, it is not only because they are developing countries or cultures not interested in my style of music, but because they are my most significant traffic source. I desperately want to advertise in Europe and North America, where my audience is.
Edit 10/05/22
I added Lebanon to the excluded location list. This country was one of my highest results in Facebook ads for only 2 visits in Spotify stats… A waste of money.
